Repeat
The same things, every day, without re-typing them
A routine that depends on you remembering it is not a routine, it is a daily test you eventually fail. Daily reminders set the repeating parts of the day once, and the day starts with a view of what is actually in it.

Why a daily routine falls over
It is almost never the first week. The failure is slower than that, and it looks like one of these.
You were re-creating it by hand
A dated task every morning means a decision every morning. Two busy days in and you skip the setup, and the thing you were tracking quietly stops being tracked.
Every day means seven days, and your life is five
A daily reminder that also fires on Saturday gets dismissed on Saturday, and dismissing is a habit too. Within a fortnight you are dismissing it on Tuesday as well.
You only find out what today holds at 11am
Nothing was missed yet, but the shape of the day was a surprise, which is how the three things that needed an earlier start became the three things that slipped.
Set the shape of the day once
A daily reminder is a repeating reminder with the everyday preset on it. Set it, and the tablet at 08:00, the stretch at 11:00 and the handover note at 17:30 appear every day without any further input from you.
When every day is not really every day, switch on the individual days instead. Seven independent toggles, plus the everyday, weekdays and weekends presets, mean the gym reminder can be Monday, Wednesday and Friday and the school run can stop at the weekend.
Repeating reminders also carry an active window with a day start and a day end, and can fire at an interval inside it — which is how you build the drink water every two hours between 09:00 and 18:00 kind of thing without creating five separate reminders.
- Everyday, weekdays and weekends presets, or seven individual day toggles
- A day start and a day end, so nothing fires at 03:00
- Fire at an interval inside the active window
- End the repeat after a count, after a date, or never

The things worth making daily
- The medication that has a time rather than a rough part of the day
- The stretch, the walk or the water that only happens when something asks
- The 17:30 handover note, so tomorrow starts from a written position
- Feeding, watering, checking — anything with a living thing at the end of it
- The daily backup, the daily reconciliation, the daily inbox sweep
- The ten minutes of study that only survive if they are scheduled
Starting the day with the day in front of you
The dashboard is built around when things are due rather than when they were created, so opening it is a briefing rather than an archive.
Five day buckets
Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, Later This Week and Later, each with a live count on the tab, so you see the size of the day before you open it.
Three counts at the top
Overdue, Today and Completed. The first number is the one that tells you whether yesterday actually finished.
Filter to one part of your life
Switch to a single category and every bucket count recalculates, so a work morning does not have to include the personal list.
Or sort by what matters
The priority view regroups the same reminders into First, Then and Later instead of by time, which is the more honest order on a full day.
Clear it in one run
Focus mode takes whatever you are looking at and puts it in front of you one item at a time, which suits a morning tidy-up of the overnight list.
Your meetings in the same view
Connect Google Calendar and your events appear next to your reminders, so the routine and the diary are read together. Timelee reads your calendar and does not write to it.
Building a daily routine that survives a bad week
The difference between a routine that lasts and one that does not is usually two settings.
Start with three, not thirty
A daily list you cannot finish trains you to ignore the app. Pick the three that would genuinely change the week and leave the rest for later.
Put them on the real days
If it does not happen at the weekend, do not let it fire at the weekend. Every dismissal you did not need to make weakens the ones you did.
Match the channel to the stakes
Most of a routine belongs on a plain alarm. A dose or a shift start might deserve an in-app call, so the loud channels stay meaningful.
Add a pre-alarm to anything with preparation
Leaving the house at 07:40 is not a reminder at 07:40. A heads-up 20 minutes out is the one that actually changes the outcome.
Check history after two weeks
Completed and missed reminders both stay, so you can look at the pattern rather than guessing at it, and cut the ones you never do.
A routine should cost you one decision, not one decision a day.
Everything you have to re-create each morning is something that will stop happening during the first difficult week.
Set the three daily things and stop rebuilding them
Pick the days they really happen, give them a time, and let the morning view tell you the rest.
