A calendar is good at holding a single fixed thing: pickup is at 15:10, every weekday. What it is bad at is the pile of one-off changes that sit on top of that — the non-uniform day, the cake for the bake sale, the permission slip that has to go back signed, the PE kit that has to be there on Tuesday specifically, not every day.
