FAQ
Questions about Timelee
The questions people actually ask before they trust an app with a phone number, grouped so you can skip to the part you care about. Where the answer is a limit, it is written as a limit.

Timelee is a reminder app that lets you choose how hard each reminder is to ignore. An ordinary alarm for most things. A full-screen call inside the app when you want to look at it properly. A real phone call, placed by Timelee's servers to a number you have verified, for the handful of things a week that genuinely cannot be missed.
Nothing escalates unless you asked it to, and escalation stops the moment you acknowledge the reminder. Everything below is an elaboration on that.
How reminders reach you
What makes Timelee different from other reminder apps?
Delivery. Other apps have one way to reach you, a notification. Timelee lets you choose per reminder: a full-screen alarm, a ringing call inside the app, or a real phone call to your number. Set one to Critical and it runs all three in order.
What is an App Call?
The phone rings full screen, like an incoming call, inside Timelee. You dismiss it with a tap, but you see what it is first. It is free and it is the app's recommended default.
What is the difference between Important and Critical?
Important is the alarm, then the app call if you do not acknowledge it, and both are free. Critical adds a real phone call about ten minutes later if it is still unacknowledged, and that uses credits.
Does the escalation happen even if I acknowledge the first alert?
No. Escalation is the response to no response. Deal with the alarm and nothing further is sent.
Will Timelee ring through silent mode?
An alarm behaves like an alarm rather than a notification, and a real phone call rings on the phone network. Exactly how your handset treats silent and focus modes is up to your phone's settings, so test it once with a reminder you set two minutes ahead.
Can I get reminders by email?
On repeating reminders, yes — email is one of the delivery options there and the message carries the full detail. It is not available on every reminder kind, and it is not a rung of the escalation ladder.
Phone calls
Does Timelee actually phone me?
Yes. Timelee's servers place a real phone call to a number you have verified. It is a genuine call on the phone network, not a notification that looks like one.
Does the phone call work if my phone is locked or the app is closed?
Yes. The call is placed from Timelee's servers, so it does not need the app to be running, the screen to be on, or the phone to be unlocked.
Can Timelee call someone else instead of me?
Yes. Point a Phone Call Only reminder at their number. They do not need the Timelee app for it to work, and the number has to be verified first.
Can anyone make Timelee call my phone?
No. A number has to be verified with a one-time code before Timelee will call it, so a call can only be scheduled to a number somebody has proved they control.
Cost and credits
What does Timelee cost?
The core is free: reminders, alarms, repeats, pre-alarms, nags, categories, tags, sharing and the web dashboard. Real phone calls use call credits. Current figures are shown in the app rather than on this site, so they cannot go stale here.
How do call credits work?
Each reminder call spends credits from your balance. How many depends on the destination network, so the app shows a rate per destination and your live balance before you schedule a call.
Where do I buy credits?
Inside the Timelee app on Google Play or the App Store. There is no web checkout.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Everything except real phone calls is part of the free core, and it is a usable reminder app on its own.
Devices and setup
Which platforms does Timelee run on?
Android, iPhone and the web, on one account. A reminder you create in any of them appears in the others.
Can I do everything from the web?
You can create and edit every reminder kind from the web, including medication, place, life events and shared reminders. Some of them can only fire on your phone: a geofence has to be watched by a phone, tones play on the phone, and attached photos and voice notes show there. The form tells you which is which while you fill it in.
Will Timelee send me desktop notifications in the browser?
No. There is no web push and no service worker, so reminders do not arrive as browser or desktop alerts. They ring on your phone. A timer you start in a browser tab only runs while that tab is open.
How do I sign in?
With your Google account. There is no Timelee password. Apple sign-in is listed in the app and marked as coming; it is not live yet.
Data and integrations
Is my data sold or used for advertising?
No. Your reminders and your phone number exist so Timelee can deliver reminders to you. They are not sold, and they are not shared with advertisers.
Is Timelee certified for healthcare or enterprise compliance?
No. Timelee holds no SOC 2, HIPAA or ISO 27001 certification, and we will not display badges we have not earned. What we can describe is the actual practice: Google sign-in, encrypted transport, object storage for attachments, verified phone numbers, and no sale of your data.
Does Timelee sync with Google Calendar?
It reads it. Connect your Google account and your calendar events appear next to your reminders. Timelee does not write to, change or delete anything in your calendar.
The fastest answer is one test reminder
Set something two minutes ahead, put your phone the way it usually is, and watch what happens. That tells you more than any page can.
