Timelee and Notion, side by side
People do not usually choose between these two. They end up with Notion holding everything they know, and then discover that knowing a thing and being told about it at 6pm are separate problems.
What Notion is genuinely good at
Notion is a workspace you build rather than an app you adopt. Pages, databases, views and relations between them mean you can model almost any process you actually run — a hiring pipeline, a content calendar, a house move, a research library — instead of bending your process to fit somebody else's screens.
That flexibility is the whole product, and it is a real one. For teams, the ability to keep documents, structured records and discussion in one place stops the usual fragmentation across four tools. For individuals, it is a home for everything you want to keep, written the way you want it written.
If what you need is a place where knowledge and work live together, Notion is not competing with Timelee at all, and nothing on this page suggests you should leave it.

Both products change frequently, and this compares them at the category level at the time of writing rather than auditing anyone's feature list. Check Notion's own site for what it offers today, and for current pricing, before you decide.
The gap people hit with a workspace
A workspace is somewhere you go. That is fine when the work is the kind you sit down to do, and it is the reason a database of tasks with a due date property often feels sufficient right up until a due date passes without anything happening.
The failure is not that the record was missing. The record was right there, correctly filled in, with a date on it. The failure is that at 17:58 nobody was in the workspace, the phone was on silent in a bag, and there was no second attempt. A reminder only worked if it reached a conscious person who then did something.
Timelee is built entirely around that last sentence. It does not try to hold what you know. It tries to make sure a specific item interrupts you, with an escalation you choose per reminder: an alarm, then a full-screen call inside the app, then a real phone call placed by Timelee's servers to a number you verified. The Critical preset is described in-product as "Alarm, then in-app call, then a phone call 10 min later if missed", and the ladder stops the moment you acknowledge it.
Timelee can hold the detail, just not the architecture
Any reminder in Timelee can carry a rich detail page: formatted text, tables, drawings, autosaving as you go. A reminder can also hold pictures or a voice clip, which show and play on it in the mobile app. So the context you would otherwise have to go and look up can sit on the thing that rings.
What Timelee cannot do is let you design your own schema. There are no custom properties, no relations, no views you define yourself, and no databases. Fourteen reminder kinds with fixed fields is the whole model. For a reminder app that is a reasonable trade; for a workspace it would be a fatal limitation, which is precisely why these two are not substitutes.

Who should pick Notion over Timelee
If your actual need is a home for documents, structured records and shared work, pick Notion and do not add a second tool for the sake of it. The same is true if you are already living in a workspace all day, because a reminder that fires where you already are is the cheapest kind. Timelee earns its place when something has to reach you away from a screen — a dose, a pickup, a filing deadline, a relative's routine — or when the person who needs reminding is not in your workspace and never will be.
Common questions
Can Timelee replace my Notion setup?
No, and it should not try. Timelee has no custom databases, properties, relations or views. If you have modelled your work in a workspace, keep it there and use Timelee only for the moments that have to interrupt you.
Can I put a reminder on a Notion page?
Not directly. Timelee has no integration with Notion and no public integration directory — its only third-party connection is read-only Google Calendar. If connecting tools is central to how you work, that is a fair reason to look elsewhere.
Does Timelee do rich text?
Yes, as a detail page on a reminder. Formatted text, tables and drawings, autosaving as you type. It is a place to hold context for the thing that rings, not a document system.
Can I use Timelee for a team?
For reminders, yes. You can share a reminder or assign it to a member of a team you have created, and they accept or decline with the status visible to you. It is not a project manager and has no boards, dependencies or reporting.

The core is free: reminders, alarms, repeats, pre-alarms, nags, categories, tags, sharing and the web dashboard, in 32 languages. Only a real phone call costs money, because a carrier is paid for each one, and credits are bought in the Android or iOS app.
